AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said he was confident that his party would surpass its earlier performance in the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections. He claimed there is strong “pro-incumbency” in favour of the party. He also targeted opposition parties, saying they have no real issues left to raise and are instead resorting to personal attacks against Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Kejriwal arrived in Ludhiana on a two-day visit to hold meetings with party leaders as part of preparations for the upcoming assembly polls. He was accompanied by Mann during the visit.
Talking to mediapersons, Kejriwal said he was fully confident that the AAP would improve its previous electoral record and deliver a strong performance in the next elections. He said the party has received positive feedback after completing four years in government and added that there is clear pro-incumbency in the state.
He claimed that people are discussing the government’s work, including free electricity, improved canal water supply to farms and daytime power for farmers.
Kejriwal further said that people are benefiting from Rs 10 lakh cashless health insurance, large-scale road construction and the development of playgrounds across the state. He added that the promised Rs 1,000 monthly assistance for women would soon start reaching beneficiaries. He claimed that no previous government had carried out work at this scale and that people are satisfied with the performance. He alleged that opposition parties lack substantive issues and therefore focus only on criticising Mann.
