Paying tribute to B.R. Ambedkar on his birth anniversary, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya said the revered social reformer made monumental contributions toward building a just and inclusive India by relentlessly championing the rights of the marginalised and the oppressed.
Dattatreya remembered Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, as a tireless crusader for social justice, equality, and human dignity, who laid the foundation for a democratic nation rooted in fairness and empowerment for all.
He noted that Ambedkar's efforts to uplift the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and other disadvantaged sections of society were visionary and transformative.
Through constitutional measures such as reservations in education and employment, legal safeguards against discrimination, and the enshrinement of equality as a fundamental right, Ambedkar ensured that justice would become a cornerstone of India's democratic framework.
Dattatreya urged people across Haryana and the country to follow Ambedkar’s path and embrace his teachings in daily life. He called on citizens to reaffirm their commitment to building a truly inclusive and developed India—“Viksit Bharat”—by 2047, when the nation marks 100 years of independence.
He emphasised that the best tribute to Ambedkar would be to translate his vision into action by ensuring that the benefits of development reach the last person in society.

Ambedkar, born in 1891 into a Dalit family, faced systemic discrimination from an early age, which deeply shaped his commitment to social reform. A brilliant scholar, he pursued advanced studies in economics and law abroad, and returned to India as a powerful voice for the rights of Dalits.
His tireless advocacy culminated in his role as India’s first law minister and the principal drafter of the Constitution, where he enshrined the ideals of liberty, equality, and fraternity.
Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini paid floral tributes to Ambedkar at the mini secretariat complex in Hisar. Speaking on the occasion, Saini said the day was one of pride not only for Haryana but for the entire nation, as citizens continue to walk the path shown by Ambedkar.
He described Ambedkar as a timeless symbol of social harmony, who devoted his entire life to the welfare of the poor and marginalised. Saini highlighted Ambedkar’s role in unifying the country through the Constitution and strengthening national unity and integrity.
He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for following Ambedkar’s ideals and for setting the ambitious goal of making India a developed nation by 2047. He urged every citizen to contribute to this mission and help fulfill the vision Ambedkar had for India.
