A major ammonia gas leak has been reported from an ice factory located in the Anand Nagar residential area of Jalandhar, triggering panic among local residents.
As soon as the leak was detected, the fire brigade and administrative teams rushed to the site to manage the situation and prevent further escalation.
Residents of the area have long expressed concerns about the factory, repeatedly lodging complaints with the administration regarding potential hazards.
Despite multiple warnings, no concrete action was taken. Recently, locals even staged a protest demanding the closure of the factory, citing safety risks to the community. However, their concerns remained unaddressed.
Following the leak, the atmosphere in the area became tense, with people fearing for their safety.
Upon receiving information about the incident, both the fire department and the police arrived at the location to assess the situation and take necessary measures. Authorities are now monitoring the impact of the leak while working to contain the spread of ammonia gas.
