An Indian Army soldier was injured in a firing incident along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday morning, sources said.

The soldier was stationed at a forward post in the Kalsiyan area of the Nowshera sector when he was reportedly hit by a sniper shot from across the border.

He was given first aid at the site before being airlifted to a military hospital in Udhampur for advanced treatment. Officials stated that the cause of the firing is still under investigation. Around 6 a.m., an explosion was also reported near the zero line in the area, followed by three rounds of gunfire.

However, there were no immediate reports of casualties from the blast, and the cause remains unknown.

Meanwhile, terrorist infiltration attempts along the LoC have reportedly increased. Pakistan is allegedly using the ceasefire as a cover to send militants across the border, strengthening terrorist camps at key locations.

Intelligence reports suggest that terrorist groups backed by the Pakistani Army and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) are preparing for infiltration by taking advantage of changing weather conditions.

Indian security forces have identified three major terrorist launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), where militants are trained before attempting to cross into India.
