Punjab Police on Saturday apprehended an associate of gangster Arzoo Bishnoi, a day after several Punjab leaders received threats from the Bishnoi gang. The arrested individual, whose identity has not yet been disclosed by the police, is wanted in a murder case in Rajasthan and carries a bounty on his head.
In a post on X, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said, “In a major breakthrough, the Anti-Gangster Task Force Punjab has apprehended an associate of gangster Arzoo Bishnoi (Lawrence gang), linked to an inter-state criminal network, and recovered one .32 bore pistol along with three live cartridges.” The gang was involved in targeted assassinations and the execution of rival gang members.
The syndicate was implicated by police in the December 2025 murder of Inderpreet Singh alias Parry, a former close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi, who was shot dead in Chandigarh.
According to investigators, Arzoo Bishnoi has the authority to “clear” or green-light specific executions. Recent reports suggest she recently cleared a target in Rajasthan as part of a pan-India hit list circulated among gang hitmen.
The gang targeted high-profile individuals, including Bollywood celebrities (notably Salman Khan), Punjabi singers such as AP Dhillon and Gippy Grewal, and prominent businessmen.
The group allegedly used “digital extortion” by mining data from government portals such as GST and RERA to profile wealthy victims and issue threats.
The gang’s primary operations are concentrated in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and Maharashtra.
