The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Jharkhand police has intensified its investigation into the recent attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office at Nivaranpur under Chutia police station limits in Ranchi.
Considering the seriousness of the incident, a special ATS team visited the premises on Monday and launched a fresh probe, with investigators examining a possible terror angle.
According to sources, several senior ATS officials, accompanied by a large contingent of personnel, reached the RSS office and conducted a detailed inspection of the crime scene.
The team also seized footage from all CCTV cameras installed inside the office and in surrounding areas. Digital forensic experts of the ATS are currently analysing the footage to identify those involved in the attack.
Investigators are focusing on tracing the route used by the assailants to reach the office and the direction in which they fled after carrying out the incident. All possible entry and exit routes are being mapped as part of the investigation.
The ATS is also questioning local residents and security personnel deployed at the office to reconstruct the sequence of events and gather information about any suspicious activity noticed around the time of the attack.
Officials said the probe is being conducted from multiple angles, with efforts underway to ascertain the motive behind the incident and identify those responsible.
Notably, three persons have been arrested by the State police in connection with the attack. An accused was also injured during a brief encounter with the police when he tried to escape from police custody.
