Five Nepalese pilgrims, returning from the Maha Kumbh Mela, tragically lost their lives when the SUV they were traveling in flipped five times after hitting a divider while trying to avoid a stunt biker on a highway in Muzaffarpur district, Bihar. The accident occurred on Saturday and left four others critically injured.
The victims and the injured, all from the same family and residents of Janakpur, were returning from the religious event. Witnesses reported that a biker was performing dangerous stunts on his motorcycle on the four-lane bypass in Madhubani while a speeding Scorpio SUV was passing by.
In an attempt to avoid hitting the biker, the SUV swerved suddenly, hit the divider, and flipped over five times before stopping. The biker fled the scene after the accident. The five victims, three women and two men, died at the scene.

Four others, including a child, were seriously injured and taken to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital in Muzaffarpur for treatment.
Locals said that bikers often perform stunts on this bypass, causing accidents, and there is little police action to prevent such incidents.
The victims have been identified as Archana Thakur, Indu Devi, Mantarni Devi, Bal Krishna Jha, and the driver. The injured are Manohar Thakur, Srishti Thakur, Kamini Jha, and Devtaran Devi.
DSP Vinita Sinha visited the scene and launched an investigation into the incident.
