A police team that went to arrest a man in Darbhanga district, Bihar, on Saturday was reportedly attacked by the accused's family and local residents, leading to violent clashes.
The incident occurred in the Laheriyasarai area when the family of the accused, Jitendra Yadav—who was allegedly involved in a dowry case—attempted to prevent his arrest.
A video of the incident shows a large group of people throwing stones at the police and trying to steal their guns. The crowd also blocked the main road by burning tyres to stop the police from reaching the accused's house.
Three police officials, including two sub-inspectors and a constable, were injured during the clash and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

"The incident happened in the Abhanda area under Laheriasarai police station when a police team went to arrest a person with a court-issued warrant. The accused's family and other locals suddenly attacked the team and forcibly freed the accused," said Darbhanga Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Amit Kumar.
The police sent additional security to the area to stop the attack and disperse the crowd. "The locals pushed children into the crowd, so we were careful not to fire back. They threw stones at the security personnel, but the situation was controlled with mild use of force," Kumar explained.
The police have detained five people, including the man who was supposed to be arrested. A case has been filed, and further investigation is underway.
