On Sunday, Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister, Samrat Choudhary, paid tribute to the late Jagdeo Prasad, the former Deputy CM, at Chitkohra Golumber in Patna, marking his birth anniversary.

In a statement, Choudhary criticised Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav's family for focusing only on their personal interests rather than working for the betterment of Bihar.

He claimed, "Lalu Yadav's family has done nothing for Bihar. They used Jagdev Babu's name to win votes, but have only worked for their family’s benefit. They can only exploit Bihar for their personal gain."

On the same occasion, Chandan Yadav, National Secretary of the Indian National Congress (INC), also paid tribute to Jagdev Prasad, remembering his contributions to the backward, oppressed, and poor sections of society.

Yadav took to X (formerly Twitter) to describe Jagdev Prasad as a key figure in Bihar’s political history, calling him the "Lenin of Bihar." He said, "Heartfelt tributes on the birth anniversary of Babu Jagdev Prasad ji, known as Lenin of Bihar. You were the voice of the backward, oppressed, deprived, and poor. Your message will continue to inspire society for generations."

Ajay Kushwaha, former candidate from Vaishali Assembly, also paid tribute to the "revolutionary politician." In a post on X, he referred to Jagdev Prasad as an "immortal martyr" and acknowledged his work for social justice.

He wrote, "Tribute to immortal martyr Babu Jagdev Prasad ji, a revolutionary politician who fought for the rights of the exploited, deprived, and poor, on his birth anniversary."
