The BJP’s national leadership accepted the resignation of party MLA T Raja Singh from the Goshamahal constituency. National general secretary Arun Singh wrote a letter on July 11, 2025, to Raja Singh stating that the resignation has been accepted with immediate effect. The social media of the Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party, however, curiously deleted a post regarding it.
Raja Singh resigned on June 30 in protest against the manner in which the party chose its new State president, N Ramachander Rao. Singh alleged that he was not permitted to file his nomination for the BJP State president election.
The letter of Arun Singh declared that the points mentioned by Raja Singh in his resignation letter were immaterial and not aligned with the working, ideology and principles of the party. "According to the instruction of the National President Jagat Prakash Nadda, I do hereby confirm that your resignation has been accepted with immediate effect," the letter declared.

Singh was not happy with the high command's decision to appoint loyalist, former MLC and senior advocate Rao as the State president and was left out in the cold despite having extensive support from grassroots BJP workers in Telangana.
Singh is frank and was thought to be a holder of aggressive Hindutva ideology and never hesitated in criticising his own party colleagues for being moderate. He was anticipating being made State president and establishing himself as the next Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, with his aggressive Hindutva ideology pushing 'VIP culture' out of the State unit.
Yet, the state BJP leadership is convinced that Singh lacks a pan Telangana base since he is not Telugu but of North India origin. His appeal would not transcend a few pockets has been one of the arguments.
