Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has strongly criticised the BJP government in Haryana, accusing it of continuously burdening the public with rising unemployment and inflation.

He stated that every decision made by the ruling party serves as a reminder to the people that they chose the wrong government by voting for the BJP. Hooda particularly condemned the recent hike in electricity rates, calling it a direct attack on the common people’s finances, while also slamming the government for its treatment of contractual employees under the Kaushal Rozgar Nigam.

According to Hooda, the increase in electricity rates by 40 paise per unit, along with the introduction of new tariff slabs, will lead to the government extracting nearly Rs 5000 crore from the public.

He also pointed out that the government had earlier imposed an additional Fuel Surcharge Adjustment (FSA) of ₹95 on consumers using more than 200 units of electricity, further increasing financial pressure on households. He argued that these policies reflect the BJP’s clear intention to drain money from the pockets of ordinary citizens.

Hooda also criticised the hike in electricity rates for industries, warning that this move would further accelerate the migration of businesses from Haryana.

He stated that with the rising cost of electricity, investors would be reluctant to set up industries in the state, leading to an increase in unemployment. He accused the BJP government of discouraging economic growth and making Haryana an unattractive destination for businesses.

In addition to expensive electricity, Hooda raised concerns over the treatment of skilled workers. He accused the BJP of misleading the workforce by making false promises before the elections.

According to him, the party had assured 1.25 lakh temporary employees that they would be made permanent, but after securing votes, the government went back on its word and began terminating workers instead. He claimed that the government had now released another list of hundreds of skilled employees who were set to lose their jobs.

Condemning these policies, Hooda reaffirmed that the Congress party strongly opposes any government decision that increases inflation and takes away employment opportunities from the youth.

He reiterated his party’s commitment to fighting against what he described as anti-people policies, vowing to stand with the public in resisting these financial burdens and job losses imposed by the BJP government.
