Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) aspirants continued their protest in Patna on Thursday, demanding the cancellation of the 70th Integrated Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) and a fresh exam due to alleged irregularities. The protest has now entered its 45th day as of January 30.
Candidates have accused BPSC of a paper leak during the 70th prelims. However, the Commission has denied these claims and stated that the exam will not be cancelled.
The 70th BPSC Prelims took place on December 13, 2024. However, the exam at the Bapu Pariksha Parisar center in Patna was canceled after allegations of a paper leak led to protests.
Following this, a re-exam was held on January 4, for over 10,000 candidates from that center. The results were announced on January 23, but protests continued across Bihar over alleged irregularities.
On Thursday, police were seen removing a protester outside the BPSC office in Patna.

Chirag Paswan supports aspirants’ demand
Union Minister Chirag Paswan has backed the protesting candidates, demanding that the entire BPSC exam be canceled and conducted again. According to PTI, he raised concerns over mismanagement at some exam centers.
Paswan claimed that at certain centers, there were not enough question papers, and additional copies were printed after the exam had started. Soon after, these papers reportedly surfaced on social media platforms like WhatsApp and X.
He criticised BPSC for ignoring complaints from candidates and questioned why a re-exam was ordered for just one center if everything was fair.
"I believe the entire exam should be canceled and held again, not just at one or two centers. BPSC must follow proper procedures. I have said this before and will keep saying it until the voices of young aspirants are heard," Paswan said.
