In a tragic incident, a car plunged into a deep gorge in the Kainchi Dham area of Nainital district, Uttarakhand, killing three people on the spot.
Seven people were travelling in the vehicle, all pilgrims heading to Kainchi Dham. Three of them died due to the severe impact of the accident, while the others sustained injuries.

Earlier, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rescued three people after a truck fell into a ditch in Nainital district. The incident took place near the Lohali area of Nainital.
A local resident informed the SDRF about the accident on Tuesday, following which a rescue team was immediately dispatched to the spot with necessary equipment.
According to an official statement, the truck had fallen into a deep ditch measuring nearly 200 metres. Responding promptly, the SDRF team rescued three injured persons and shifted them to a hospital for further treatment.
The SDRF said that on receiving information about the accident, a team led by Chief Constable Naveen Kunwar rushed to the site with rescue equipment.
After reaching the spot, the team climbed down into the gorge about 200 metres deep and brought the injured persons up using an alternative route on stretchers. They were sent to the hospital by ambulance.
