The Chhattisgarh High Court has ordered criminal action against a complainant who admitted to paying money to secure a job in the High Court through illegal means. The court directed the Registrar General to initiate prosecution against him.
Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha noted that despite multiple warnings from the High Court, people continue to fall victim to fraudsters promising government jobs in exchange for money.
The court made these remarks while rejecting the bail plea of an accused charged under Sections 420 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. The accused allegedly took Rs 5,15,000 from the complainant, falsely promising jobs for him and his friend in the High Court. Later, the complainant realised that no such jobs existed.
However, the court ruled that the complainant was not innocent either, as he willingly paid money to secure a job illegally. The court stressed that such actions are against the law, making him liable for criminal prosecution.

Regarding the accused’s role, the court observed that the complainant had transferred money into the accounts of the accused and his sister. This provided clear evidence of their involvement. The court also found that Rs 3,67,500 was taken from the complainant by the accused, Suman Singh, and that ₹1,34,500 was later recovered from their accounts.
Given the rise in job scams, where people are cheated by fake job offers, the court decided against granting bail to the accused. The bail plea was rejected.
Before concluding, the court warned the public to be cautious of fraudsters promising government jobs, as such scams are increasing despite repeated warnings from the High Court.
