Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday visited the family of late ASI Sandeep Lather at Ladhaut village in Rohtak district.

 

He met the bereaved family members and offered his condolences. Ministers Krishan Lal Panwar and Mahipal Dhanda, former minister and BJP leader Manish Grover, and other party members accompanied him.

 

Saini did not interact with the media during his visit.

 

ASI Lather, who headed the Cyber Cell of Rohtak Police, allegedly died by suicide on Tuesday by shooting himself. He reportedly left behind a suicide note and a video message.

 

His body has been kept at the home of his maternal uncle in Ladhaut village.

 

The family has refused to allow a post-mortem despite repeated appeals from the police and local administration.

 

They have insisted that the post-mortem will be permitted only after an FIR is registered against the people named in the ASI’s suicide note and video statement.
