To celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, a grand cleanliness and public welfare drive was launched in Rohtak on Wednesday morning under the banner of “Seva Pakhwada.”
The day began with a sanitation drive near Mansarovar Park, led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who picked up a broom and swept the road to spread the message of civic hygiene and community effort.
Arriving at Subhash Chowk early in the morning, the Saini formally launched the campaign and encouraged officials and citizens to join hands in keeping the city clean. He also interacted with sanitation workers and appreciated their hard work.
Alongside the cleanliness campaign, the Saini also participated in a tree plantation and a drug-free awareness event. He planted a sapling at Mansarovar Park, highlighting the government’s commitment to creating a greener Haryana. “Planting trees today is investing in the future. Let us all take responsibility to protect our environment, not just during this fortnight but every day,” Saini added.
Later, Saini flagged off the “Nasha Mukt Abhiyan Marathon” (Drug-Free Marathon) to spread awareness against drug abuse. School and college students, local residents, and social activists joined the run with enthusiasm. The marathon ended at the entrance of Maharshi Dayanand University.
Addressing the gathering, the Saini said the state government was working tirelessly to eliminate the drug menace from Haryana. He added that such events were important to spread awareness among people at the grassroots level.
