The Punjab Police on Sunday stated that they have busted a cross-border arms smuggling module with links to Pakistan after an arrest of one person.
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said five pistols were seized from the arrested man.
The initial probe showed that the accused, along with his wanted associate Saifli Singh, had been picking up weapon consignments on the instructions of a Pakistan-based handler and supplying them to criminals and gangsters in Punjab, Yadav said on X.
An FIR has been registered in Amritsar.
The DGP said further probe is underway to identify all forward and backward linkages and to break the entire network.
