The Delhi government has imposed a ban on the production, sale, and use of firecrackers in the national capital to address air pollution concerns during the winter season.
The ban, which also extends to online sales and deliveries, will remain in effect until January 1, 2025.
Environment Minister Gopal Rai announced the decision on Monday, outlining that an action plan will be developed in coordination with Delhi Police, the Delhi Pollution Control Committee, and the Revenue Department to ensure strict enforcement of the ban.
"This measure is part of the Delhi government's winter action plan, which focuses on 21 key areas to tackle pollution," Rai said in a statement.
