A small road dispute between two groups turned into a physical fight in Pauri district of Uttarakhand. Police arrested seven people involved, most of whom were tourists from Delhi. The issue started when some locals in one car accused the tourists of provoking a fight because they did not allow them to overtake. During the clash, two tourists and one local from Srinagar in Pauri district got minor injuries.
The tourists, aged between 25 and 27, were traveling in two cars heading to Auli, a ski resort in Chamoli district. Six tourists were from Delhi, and one was from Tehri, Uttarakhand.
Police said the tourists’ car was behind the locals’ car and they honked to ask for space to pass. After waiting for some time, the tourists overtook the locals’ car, stopped ahead, and asked them to get out.
This led to a heated argument, which soon turned into a physical fight, police added.
The Srinagar Police team quickly arrived at the scene and controlled the situation. However, the tourists later created a ruckus at the police station. Police filed a case against the seven men for disturbing the peace and arrested them. The police also seized their cars.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are reviewing CCTV footage to understand the incident better. The arrested are Ajay Ubas, Abhishek Kaushik, Vishal Vats, Akash Dabas, Sagar, and Manish, all from different parts of Delhi, along with Vipin Mandrawal from Tehri, Uttarakhand.
