Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and his wife Sonal Shah hoisted the national flag at their residence in Delhi’s Krishna Menon Marg as part of the same campaign. Visuals showed the couple raising a large tricolour on their terrace, with their residence decorated in the colours of the Indian flag.

The Ministry of Culture announced on August 11 the launch of the fourth edition of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The aim is to inspire citizens to bring the national flag into their homes and hearts.

The campaign has now turned into a people’s movement, with more than five lakh young people registering this year as volunteers. Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said these volunteers would encourage more people to take part in the campaign and celebrate the tricolour.
