Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu hit back at BJP MP Anurag Thakur for comparing the Congress and its Mahagathbandhan allies in Bihar to the Kauravas of the Mahabharata. Sukhu questioned whether BJP leaders had ever fought for the rights of Himachal Pradesh.
Former Union minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur had said the five Pandavas — the BJP and its allies — would defeat the Kauravas, referring to the opposition Mahagathbandhan, in the Bihar Assembly elections.
Thakur described Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Upendra Kushwaha as the five Pandavas.
When asked about Thakur’s remarks, Chief Minister Sukhu said the Pandavas fought for their rights. "The Himachal Pradesh BJP leaders should be asked whether they ever fought for the rights of the state," Sukhu said.
