Senior Jammu and Kashmir Police officers carried out a detailed inspection along the Indo-Pak border in Jammu district to review the security situation and assess the effectiveness of the border security grid, officials said on Saturday.
The visit took place on Friday, during which Deputy Inspector General Shridhar Patil inspected several remote border locations, including police posts at Malla Bharore, Jogwan and Pallanwala, officials added.
The purpose of the inspection was to evaluate operational readiness, review border domination strategies and assess overall security arrangements in the sensitive border areas, officials said.
DIG Patil was accompanied by Jammu Senior Superintendent of Police Joginder Singh and other senior police officers during the inspection. During the visit, the DIG interacted with personnel deployed in the border belt and stressed the need for constant alertness, better coordination and strong security measures to prevent infiltration attempts and maintain peace, officials said.
He also highlighted the importance of building public confidence and maintaining close coordination with residents living in border villages, they added.
