Disabled man killed in Chhattisgarh, body hidden in cement trunk

According to initial interrogation, lawyer Ankit Upadhyay and his wife are suspected to have committed the murder of Kishore Paikra, in a dispute over land brokerage.

In a recent case, a differently abled man's body wrapped in cement, placed in a suitcase inside a steel trunk, and left in a residential locality, was discovered in Chhattisgarh's Raipur, according to reports. Pursuing the trail of the investigation, a married couple have been taken into custody at the Delhi airport, who, according to officials, are alleged to be the masterminds of the crime.

 

The paper quoting Raipur SSP Lal Umed Singh stated that according to the initial interrogation, lawyer by profession Ankit Upadhyay and his wife are suspected to have committed the murder of Kishore Paikra, in a dispute over land brokerage.

 

Hunt for Ankit, son of a retired ASI of the Chhattisgarh police, and his wife began after the CCTV footage at the spot where the body was recovered, the report further added.

 

Additionally, the report added that the CCTV footage showed a car entering Raipur's DD Nagar on Monday. Two men exited the car and opened the boot to remove the trunk with the body, seen in the footage.

Adding to that, in the footage, a woman with her face hidden was also seen following the car on a two-wheeler. The officials, during the inquiry, learned that the victim Paikra resided in Handipara's HMT Chowk and required a wheelchair due to mobility.

 

he had a case of land dispute as he had sold a plot with Ankit's assistance in a village called Mohadi village for ₹50 lakh; but got ₹20 lakh short of the expected amount, the report continued.

 

Paikra had threatened to lodge a police complaint against Ankit, the couple then apparently hatched a plan to get him eliminated. Hailing from Changorabhatha village, Ankit and his wife were brought to Raipur late on Tuesday, the report added.
