A day after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) recovered bags full of cash thrown out of a window from the ninth floor of Nitin Gohal’s flat in Kharar, the team was still present at the premises collecting more evidence on Friday morning.
According to sources, Gohal’s children were escorted to school by officials on Thursday. Since yesterday, ED officials have been taking short breaks by turn, while a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) cordon has been maintained around the society for the past 24 hours.
The raids are also continuing at other premises of Dhir Constructions, sources said.
On Thursday, teams of the Enforcement Directorate carried out searches against two Punjab-based real estate groups in connection with an alleged land fraud case involving cheating of landowners and homebuyers.
The officials witnessed dramatic scenes in Kharar, where bundles of cash were allegedly thrown from a flat during the raid.
Official sources later confirmed that the bags, which were thrown from Flat No. 906 in Western Towers, ChajjuMajra, contained cash bundles that were taken into possession by the search team.
ED sources further said that 12 other locations in Mohali and Chandigarh were also raided, including the premises of several other builders and that of Nitin Gohal.
