Farmers from the Haryana-Punjab Shambhu border have decided to postpone their planned march to Delhi. Sarwan Singh Pandher, the leader of the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM), made this announcement during a press conference.
He called on the Central Government to hold talks in Delhi before February 14, instead of Chandigarh as initially planned.
Earlier, Pandher had stated that farmers were ready to march to Delhi, accusing the government of trying to divide the farming community. However, after the government invited farmers for talks in Chandigarh on February 14, they changed their protest strategy.
The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) had previously planned nationwide protests at the homes of MPs and MLAs on January 20 to demand a law guaranteeing the Minimum Support Price (MSP).

However, in response to the government’s invitation for talks, the SKM decided to send emails with their demands to MPs instead of holding physical protests. Additionally, the SKM has announced tractor marches across the country on January 26 to highlight their cause.
Meanwhile, farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal is still on hunger strike, continuing his protest for an MSP guarantee law. Although he began accepting medical aid late on Saturday night after requests from farmers, his health remains critical.
Dallewal’s hunger strike has now lasted for 56 days, despite the government’s offer for talks. Medical experts are concerned about his health and survival until February 14 if he continues with the strike.
