Another wanted criminal from Punjab has been added to the FBI's most wanted list for his alleged involvement in a transnational drug trafficking syndicate operating in North America.
Harmanveer Singh, a Punjab-born 32-year-old, was placed on the list days after the arrest of gangster Nitish Kaushal.
According to FBI investigators, Harmanveer is allegedly involved in a cross-border drug trafficking network operating in the United States and rest of the North America.
Singh is linked to the Ravinder Dhanda organised crime group, based in Vancouver, Canada. The syndicate is allegedly involved in supplying a large cache of drugs, including cocaine and banned substances like methamphetamine, to American-based cartels as well as networks in Canada and Mexico, they said.
Earlier, on June 23, a federal warrant was issued for Singh in the United States District Court, Central District of California, Los Angeles. He is currently wanted in a case linked to the distribution of and possession with intent to sell banned substances to foreign operatives, as per a latest FBI statement.
The FBI's most wanted list highlights fugitives considered dangerous or those involved in serious crimes, including murder, drug trafficking, extortion and organised crime. Being placed on the list means Singh is a priority target for law enforcement agencies worldwide.
Investigations revealed that Dhanda's network used confidential informants and undercover operations to track drug shipments. Between 2023 and 2024, more than 948 pounds of cocaine were allegedly trafficked across borders.
Under Operation 'Hard Ball', the FBI, along with other international law enforcement agencies, arrested 24 wanted criminals allegedly linked to the Bhagwanpuria and Lawrence Bishnoi gangs across multiple countries.
Law enforcement agencies said they recovered more than 1,000 kg of cocaine and other banned substances from the possession of these criminals, along with arms and ammunition.
