Five young men lost their lives and two others were injured after their SUV crashed into a tree in Sonipat district of Haryana, police said on Saturday.
The group was on their way back to Rohtak on Friday evening after attending a wedding in Bhawar village of Gohana when the accident took place, officials said.
The SUV was badly damaged in the crash. Three of the occupants died on the spot, while two others later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. One of the injured is still in critical condition, police added.
The deceased were identified as Sagar, Deepak, Sahil, Mohit and Ankush. They were between 22 and 27 years old and belonged to Khidwali and Ghuskani villages in Rohtak district, officials said.
