Hisar Police have begun court proceedings under Section 182 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against a woman and three men for reportedly filing a fake gang rape case against BJP leader Mandeep Malik and another man named Pradeep.
Pradeep, who hails from Niyana village, said Surender Jangra, his relative Gajender Jangra, Bunty Jangra and a woman lodged a false FIR at Hisar Sadar police station accusing him and Malik of gang rape. Based on their complaint, the police had initially registered a case.
Terming the allegations false and motivated, Pradeep said he had bought shops in a real estate project where Surender was a director. He said he had lodged complaints about illegal construction and had also approached the CM Window. In the complaint, he alleged that a road had been built on HSVP land without permission.
A monitoring panel led by Mandeep Malik probed the complaint. HSVP later demolished the illegally built road after the investigation. Pradeep said this angered Surender and others, who then conspired to file a false gang rape case on October 22, 2024.
Police probe found the allegations baseless and the FIR was cancelled. The woman then moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which ordered an SIT investigation. The SIT also found no evidence, and submitted a cancellation report on April 29, 2025. Her protest petition was later dismissed by the court.
