Four members of a family lost their lives after their car fell into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district on Saturday, officials said.

 

The accident happened on the Drabshalla link road, about 25 km from Kishtwar town. The family was on its way back to their home in Dessa village in Doda after offering prayers at the Sarthal Mata temple, officials said.

 

According to police, the driver appeared to have lost control while taking a blind curve, causing the vehicle to skid off the road and plunge into the gorge.

 

Locals rushed to the spot to rescue the victims and found three people, including a young girl, dead on the spot.

 

An injured woman was taken out of the damaged vehicle and shifted to the district hospital, but she was declared dead on arrival, the police said.
