With the departure of the latest batch, the total number of Yatris who have left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp has officially reached 141,712, while the total number of Yatris who performed darshan at the cave shrine this year has also crossed the 4.50 lakh mark.

Meanwhile, the 25th batch which performed darshan on Monday is also returning to the Baltal base camp on Tuesday.

Officials on Tuesday confirmed that over 2,000 Yatris who paid obeisance at the shrine have returned to the base camp and will head back to Jammu under tight security.

The Amarnath Yatra is ongoing smoothly in the Himalayan region, with foolproof security arrangements in place.

The Yatra has remained peaceful since it commenced on July 2 after Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch from Jammu.

Sinha hailed security forces, Yatris, and people from Jammu and Kashmir for making this year’s pilgrimage a record success after last year’s terror attack had left 26 people dead in Pahalgam.
