Fresh snowfall was recorded in the upper-reaches of Uttarakhand on Tuesday, marking the second such spell in the hill state over the past few days.
Intermittent snowfall has been continuing since Monday night in Badrinath in Chamoli district, as well as in Kedarnath and nearby peaks in Rudraprayag district.
There are reports of snowfall from the high peaks of Bandarpunch and other mountain ranges in Uttarkashi district.
Cloudy conditions remained in Gangotri, Yamunotri and nearby areas of Uttarkashi district, while the weather remained dry in Dehradun and other plain regions.
This marks the second snowfall in Uttarakhand within a week. Earlier, after a long dry spell, heavy snowfall was witnessed in the state’s high-altitude regions on January 23, which covered the areas with a thick blanket of snow.
