Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader KT Rama Rao (KTR) hit back at Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday, following the CM's recent pledge to permanently keep the KCR family out of power. During an event at the BRS office, KTR took sharp exception to the "abuses and language" used by the Chief Minister, calling his choice of words unbecoming of someone in high office.
Rather than making political vows to keep rivals down, KTR challenged the CM to instead vow to fulfil the promises made during the election campaign. He specifically highlighted the "one tola gold" scheme for poor women — a key Congress pledge from the 2023 polls — and dared the government to implement it by January 1, 2026. "You took a vow to prevent KCR from coming to power. If you have so much of talent, take a vow to implement the gold scheme instead," remarked KTR.
The tension between the two leaders has escalated sharply following a December 24 exchange. In that instance, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy swore to block a BRS comeback after KCR reportedly threatened to "skin" the current Congress administration. KTR suggested that the CM's energy would be better spent on governance and the delivery of welfare schemes rather than personal political vendettas.
