Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday repeated that his government is committed to fulfilling all pre-poll promises.
Talking to mediapersons, Dhami said his administration had worked “with full sincerity and responsibility” to implement the promises made to people, including introducing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state.
He also reviewed the preparations for the winter Char Dham Yatra and said arrangements were made much earlier this year to ensure a smooth pilgrimage season.
"Under the guidance of PM Modi, our government fulfils every promise made to the people... Before the elections, we had promised the public about UCC, and we have fulfilled that promise... This time, we started preparations for the winter Char Dham Yatra much in advance, and all arrangements have been made to ensure that pilgrims face no inconvenience. In the coming times, the number of pilgrims will increase further, and for this, we have enhanced the facilities," Dhami said.
Talking about the farm sector, Dhami assured sugarcane growers that the government will fully support them during the upcoming harvest and procurement season.
"We assure the farmers that they should cultivate their full sugarcane crop, and the government will make complete arrangements for its procurement," Dhami said.
On Friday, while addressing the Herbal Advisory Committee meeting at the Secretariat, Dhami asked officials to work in an organised way in the herbal sector by forming village-level clusters.
He said special attention should be given to promoting and developing herbal and medicinal products from the higher Himalayan regions.
Dhami directed that a team of experts from the state be sent to study best practices in the herbal and aroma sectors in two leading states so those ideas can be adopted in Uttarakhand.
He said coordinated work in research, innovation, production, marketing, and branding is needed to increase the herbal industry’s turnover.
