Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi chaired a crucial meeting of the Unique Identification Implementation Committee (UIDIC) on Wednesday, emphasising the urgent need for achieving 100 per cent Aadhaar coverage across the state.
Addressing senior officials from various government departments, banking institutions, and the postal department, he underscored the significance of Aadhaar enrolment in ensuring efficient service delivery and governance.
To expedite the registration process, Rastogi instructed all relevant departments and agencies to ensure the swift activation of Aadhaar enrolment kits. He stressed the need for optimal utilisation of available resources to enhance the accessibility of Aadhaar services, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
As part of the strategy to boost Aadhaar enrolment, he directed that special enrolment camps be set up in both government and private schools to facilitate registrations for students. Additionally, he called for increased promotion of the M-Aadhaar App and My-Aadhaar Portal to improve digital accessibility and convenience for citizens.
Highlighting the importance of Aadhaar-linked authentication, Rastogi urged the School Education Department to conduct awareness campaigns encouraging parents to complete Mandatory Biometric Updates (MBU) for their children at the ages of five and fifteen years.

He also mandated that all government departments in Haryana ensure Aadhaar-based authentication for beneficiaries availing various services at Aadhaar centres and other government offices.
Furthering the push for Aadhaar integration, he instructed that an Aadhaar-based facial authentication attendance system be implemented across all government departments to enhance efficiency and transparency.
During the meeting, Bhawna Garg, Deputy Director General of the UIDAI Regional Office in Chandigarh, highlighted the need for increased Aadhaar enrolment among children aged 0-5 years.
She proposed deploying Aadhaar kits at immunisation centres in collaboration with the Health Department and the Department of Women and Child Development (WCD) to ensure comprehensive coverage for young children.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from various departments, as well as representatives from banks and the postal department, who discussed strategies to achieve complete Aadhaar penetration in Haryana.
