Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday strongly criticised songs that glorify gun culture, emphasising the collective responsibility of society in shaping a positive environment for the youth.
During a press conference, Saini was asked whether the Haryana government was taking action against songs that promote violence and whether there were plans to introduce a law to curb such content due to its adverse impact on young minds.
Responding to the query, Saini stated, "Jab uski avashakta padegi toh zaroor le kar ke aayenge" (If needed, we will certainly bring it), hinting at the possibility of legal measures if the situation demands.
The chief minister stressed that films and songs have a significant influence on people's mindsets. He urged artists and content creators to focus on promoting constructive themes that inspire the younger generation.
"Everyone should love their motherland, and it is the responsibility of all to guide society in a positive direction. If there are good songs, society will move towards positivity," Saini remarked, underlining the role of music and entertainment in shaping cultural values.
His statement comes amid growing concerns over the increasing prevalence of songs that glorify firearms, violence, and lawlessness, which critics argue contribute to the normalisation of such behavior among youth.
