Haryana Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan urged public representatives across the state to actively promote natural farming.
Speaking during the Budget Session, he emphasised that natural farming is the need of the hour and acknowledged the commendable efforts of many farmers who have already embraced this practice.
He stressed the importance of creating a supportive environment for natural farming and called upon representatives at all levels—including panchayat, block committees, district councils, the assembly, and Parliament—to contribute to its promotion.
Highlighting the government's efforts, Kalyan noted that several schemes have been introduced over the years to encourage natural farming, and public representatives can play a crucial role in helping farmers understand the benefits of chemical-free agriculture over conventional farming methods.
He encouraged elected officials to engage directly with farmers through meetings and small group discussions to raise awareness and facilitate the transition to natural farming.

He also announced that the Haryana Vidhan Sabha will organise a seminar on natural farming in the coming months, where experts, government officials, and successful natural farmers will share their insights and experiences to inspire more farmers to adopt sustainable agricultural practices.
Haryana Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana outlined the state's ambitious plan to bring one lakh acres under natural farming as part of the 2025-26 budget.
He further stated that the Haryana State Seed Certification Agency has been designated by the Government of India to certify natural farming products. To support farmers making the shift, the state government has formed a committee to explore options for fixing a minimum support price (MSP) for natural farming produce or providing incentives to offset potential initial yield losses.
Rana also detailed the state's initiatives under the 'Promoting Sustainable Agriculture Strategic Initiatives and Farmers’ Welfare Fund,' which has been in place since 2022-23 to raise awareness and encourage farmers to adopt chemical-free agriculture.
He highlighted that the core objectives of this initiative include promoting climate-friendly farming practices, reducing cultivation costs, ensuring the long-term sustainability of agriculture, improving soil fertility, and fostering widespread adoption of natural farming methods among the farming community.
