The headless body of a differently abled man was found at Keshav Park in Kurukshetra on Tuesday, police said. Police said the severed head has not been found so far. A blood-stained knife was recovered from near the body. The victim has not yet been identified and is believed to be around 35 to 40 years old.
The body was spotted by morning walkers near the stage area inside Keshav Park. A sharp-edged weapon and a syringe were also found lying close to the spot. The incident was immediately reported to the police.
After receiving the information, police officials reached the park and sealed off the area. The body was taken into custody and sent to the mortuary at LNJP Hospital.
Police teams searched the surrounding areas, including the park premises, but the severed head could not be traced. The victim’s pockets were checked, but no identity papers were found. Local residents were questioned, but no one was able to identify the deceased, police said.
Police said CCTV footage from areas in and around the park is being examined for lead in the case. Separate teams have been formed to investigate the case from different angles.
