The Char Dham Yatra is witnessing a steady surge in pilgrim turnout, with thousands of devotees arriving at Badrinath and Kedarnath Dhams every day. The heavy rush has led to long queues at both shrines as pilgrims wait patiently for darshan.
The world-famous pilgrimage in Uttarakhand continues to draw devotees from across the country. Large numbers of pilgrims are reaching the holy shrines daily to offer prayers, resulting in a consistent rise in footfall at both destinations.
As per the latest figures, more than 1,050,670 devotees have visited Kedarnath Dham and offered prayers to Baba Kedar so far. At Badrinath Dham, over 832,903 pilgrims have paid obeisance to Lord Badri Vishal during the ongoing yatra season.
Meanwhile, the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has advised pilgrims to make necessary arrangements before starting their journey, especially with the monsoon season approaching. Devotees have been urged to complete registration in advance, carry warm clothes, arrange accommodation beforehand and keep track of weather updates.
BKTC Chief Executive Officer Sohan Singh appealed to pilgrims to complete their registration before undertaking the pilgrimage. He also advised visitors to carry sufficient warm clothing, as temperatures in the region remain relatively low despite the summer season.
Singh said the monsoon season was approaching and pilgrim numbers had increased significantly. He noted that a one-way traffic system had been implemented in Joshimath and urged travellers to register before beginning the journey. He said registration helped authorities maintain records of visitors and manage the pilgrimage more effectively.
He further advised pilgrims to make accommodation arrangements in advance to avoid inconvenience. Singh said devotees should be prepared for large crowds and long waiting times at the shrines, as the number of visitors continues to remain high.
