To enable voters to participate in the Panchayati Raj elections, the Himachal Pradesh government has declared paid holidays on May 26, 28 and 30 in polling areas. All government offices, institutions, industrial units and commercial establishments will remain closed on polling days, and the order also covers daily wage workers.
According to the government notification, employees posted outside their registered voting locations will be granted special casual leave on submission of voting proof issued by the presiding officer.
The election schedule will not apply to Karjan and Soyal gram panchayats in Naggar development block and Jaban and Namhog panchayats in Anni development block of Kullu district, as the tenure of these panchayats has not yet ended.
