Himachal Pradesh Police on Tuesday detained a man from Uttar Pradesh for allegedly raping an MBBS trainee on the false promise of marriage, officials said.

About a month-and-a-half ago, the accused called the victim to Chandigarh, where he forced himself on her in a hotel. He also recorded the act on video and threatened her with it, Chaudhary added.
Police registered a case under relevant Sections of the BNS at Bilaspur Sadar police station and arrested the accused, the officer said. The ASP added that police are probing all aspects of the matter.
