A Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) case has been registered against a Hyderabad-based YouTuber, Arif Hussain, following allegations that he sexually assaulted a 31-year-old woman and attempted to assault her minor daughter.
According to the Mehdipatnam Police, 32-year-old Hussain, a resident of Rahul Colony in Tolichowki, runs a YouTube channel named SNZ YouTube News. The victim had initially approached him seeking help, which he promised to provide. However, after gaining her trust, he allegedly used the opportunity to assault the woman and target her daughter, subsequently using his profile as a local reporter to threaten her into silence.
Following the victim's complaint, officers booked the accused under Sections 64(2) for rape and 123 for causing hurt by means of a stupefying or intoxicating substance under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with relevant provisions of the POCSO Act. Police have since arrested Hussain, and he has been remanded to judicial custody.
