The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday night carried out raids at multiple locations in North Kashmir’s Sopore area of Baramulla district in a UAPA case linked to the Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) network. Police teams, in coordination with security forces, conducted extensive search operations at more than 15 locations across Bomai, Warpora, Sopore, and Tarzoo.
Officials said the searches were part of an ongoing investigation into activities related to the prescribed organisation and its alleged associates operating in the region.
These simultaneous raids at multiple locations were aimed at collecting evidence and verifying suspected links connected with the unlawful activities case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
According to sources, electronic devices and other digital materials are being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
Authorities have intensified efforts to dismantle networks suspected of supporting banned organisations in the Valley.
Police officials stated that further investigation is underway.
