The army on Thursday said that two suspected individuals have been arrested with arms and ammunition in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
In a post on X, Chinar Corps wrote, “On 12 Mar 2025, based on specific intelligence input, a Joint Search Operation was launched by #IndianArmy, @JmuKmrPolice and @crpf_srinagar at Gandbal-Hajin Road, Bandipora.”
“During the search, two suspected individuals have been apprehended along with the recovery of 01xPistol, 01xPistol Magazine, 02xHand Grenades, 01xAK Magazine, ammunition & other war-like stores.” the post read.
Earlier last month, J&K police arrested three militant associates of the Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
In a hand-out, the police said that during the investigation of case FIR Number 02/2025 under sections 13, 18, and 39 UAPA of police station Qaimoh, Kulgam Police, along with the Army (1RR, 1Para (SF), and CRPF (18 BN), apprehended three militant associates, namely, Ubaid Khursheed Khanday, son of Khursheed Ahmad Khanday; Maqsood Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohd Ramzan Bhat; and Umer Bashir S/O Bashir Ahmad Dar, all residents of Thokerpora Qaimoh, Kulgam.
The recovered ammunition included 02 AK- AK-Series rifles, 08 AK series magazines, 217 AK rounds, 05 hand grenades, and 02 magazine pouches.
The arrested associates were in close contact with active militants of the proscribed militant outfit LeT/TRF and were planning to carry out major militant activities in the Kulgam District, it said.

Meanwhile, the army, in collaboration with J&K police, has intensified counter-insurgency operations in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
With heightened vigilance, the security forces have managed to bring down militancy-related violence in J&K.
