The State Investigation Agency (SIA) of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday raided two suspected locations as part of its ongoing probe into a “white-collar” terror module busted last month in Faridabad, Haryana.
Anti-terror raids have intensified across Jammu and Kashmir following the November 10 deadly Red Fort blast in New Delhi, in which 15 people lost their lives, and more than 50 were injured.
Investigators believe the incident was part of an interstate network planning large-scale bomb attacks across the country. Reportedly, two members of the high-profile “white-collar” terror module were from Jammu and Kashmir.
Since then, the agencies have raided almost every district in the Kashmir Valley as part of an ongoing probe into the explosion.
A senior investigating officer said an SIA team searched the residence of Tufail Ahmad Bhat, son of Niyaz Ahmad Bhat, in Diyarwani Batmaloo, Srinagar.
Tufail, an AC technician by profession, was recently arrested by the agency for his alleged involvement in the case.
Simultaneously, another raid was underway in Ganderbal as part of the same investigation, aimed at uncovering more links and evidence connected to the module, the officer added.
It is pertinent to mention that the November 10 Delhi blast killed 15 people and injured over 50, while a subsequent accidental explosion of seized explosives at Srinagar’s Nowgam police station left 10 dead and 32 injured.
