Vikram Sharma, Jharkhand-based criminal with more than 50 cases against him, was shot dead in Dehradun on Friday morning.

In a significant breakthrough in the murder investigation of gangster Vikram Sharma in Dehradun on Friday, police sources indicate that shooters from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand were involved in the killing.

CCTV footage recovered from the crime scene has reportedly helped investigators identify two suspects, while a third accused remains at large.

According to police, the two identified suspects have been named as Akash and Ashutosh, both residents of Jamshedpur. A third individual is still being traced.

The Dehradun Police have established coordination with Jamshedpur Police to track down the accused, and joint teams are conducting raids at multiple locations.

Sources further claim that one Vishal Singh of Bagbera locality in Jamshedpur is also suspected to be involved in the murder, though officials have not formally confirmed his role.

Investigators are reportedly examining the involvement of Bagbera’s Vishal Singh, Akash Kumar Prasad, and Ashutosh of Jugsalai, whose faces were captured in CCTV footage.

The killing has once again triggered fears of a possible gang war, especially in the wake of Vikram Sharma’s murder, as he was considered a key figure linked to local criminal networks. Police have been placed on high alert amid concerns of retaliatory violence.

While the exact motive behind the murder is yet to be officially disclosed, preliminary findings suggest that a financial dispute may have led to the killing. Police sources indicate that someone close to Sharma may have orchestrated the attack over business dealings and monetary transactions.

Investigators believe the shooters travelled to Uttarakhand by flight and then reached Dehradun from Haridwar using rented bikes and scooters.

The assailants reportedly had detailed knowledge of Sharma’s daily routine. They chose the Silver City location strategically, knowing that he frequented a gym there at a fixed time.

At the time of the attack, Sharma was carrying a pistol, but the shooters allegedly did not give him any opportunity to draw his weapon.

He was shot multiple times, with the first bullet hitting his head, leading to his death on the spot. Police are continuing their probe to identify the mastermind and establish the full conspiracy behind the killing.
