The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) today cancelled its Class X Hindi and Science examinations that were conducted recently after reports of the question papers being circulated online.
The Hindi examination was conducted on February 18, while the Science examination was held on February 20.
The JAC cancelled the examinations after it found that the question papers being circulated online were exactly the same as the actual question papers distributed to the students during the exams.
The information of this question paper going viral came from Giridih and Koderma districts, where a QR code was posted in a WhatsApp group with a message that the question papers of the matriculation and intermediate examinations were available for just Rs 350.

In the message, it was claimed that the question paper of the Science examination to be held on 20th February would be given. After some time, the Science question paper was put there in PDF mode, the screenshot of which went viral in the entire State.
The JAC Board 1Class X examination started on 11th February in Jharkhand and the question papers were circulated online on February 18.
After the cancellation of the exams, State BJP chief Babulal Marandi made serious allegations against the State government.
"The Hemant government, notorious as the paper leak mafia, has shamed Jharkhand again. Perhaps this is the first time that the matriculation exam paper has been leaked in Jharkhand. The science paper has been going viral on social media since this morning. When the question paper was matched after the examination started, it was found to be exactly the same,” he said.
“There is every possibility that the gang close to the Chief Minister who leaked the JSSC-CGL exam paper has carried out the matriculation exam paper leak scandal,” he posted on his X handle.
Marandi further said that the JAC chairman has also accepted the receipt of the question paper, while the education department officials are busy covering it up. The incident of a paper leak in the matriculation exam is unacceptable.
“The Education Minister and the JAC chairman should take moral responsibility and immediately resign. The state government should recommend a CBI inquiry into this paper leak scandal and ensure strict punitive action against the culprits," he demanded.
