The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) on Thursday declared the results of the Class 10 board examinations, with an overall pass percentage of 95.27, reflecting an increase of 3.56 percentage points from last year’s 91.71.
A total of 4,24,001 students had enrolled for the examinations, of whom 4,22,109 appeared and 4,02,178 passed, indicating a high success rate across the state. Girls marginally outperformed boys, recording a pass percentage of 95.51, while boys registered 95.01, according to officials.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren congratulated students, teachers and parents on the results. In a message, he encouraged those who did not meet expectations to remain determined and continue striving, adding that the state government is committed to strengthening the education system.
Four students jointly secured the top rank in the state, each scoring 498 out of 500 marks. These include Priyanshu Kumari of Indira Gandhi Balika High School, Hazaribag; Shiwangi Kumar of SS High School, Simdega; Prem Kumar Sahu of Premchand High School, Ranchi; and Sunny Kumar Verma of St Aloysius High School, Ranchi.

The second position was also shared by multiple candidates, including Vashnavi Shree and Julita Minz, who scored 99.20 per cent. Several students jointly secured the third rank with 98.80 per cent.
In terms of divisions, 2,26,957 students passed in the first division, 1,60,673 in the second division, and 14,548 in the third division, indicating a strong overall academic performance.
District-wise, Gumla emerged as the top-performing district with a pass percentage of 99.32, followed by Dumka (99.02), Pakur (98.56), East Singhbhum (98.02), and Latehar (96.90). Chatra recorded the lowest pass percentage at 91.20.
Officials said the steady rise in pass percentage reflects ongoing efforts to improve access to education and enhance academic standards across Jharkhand.
