Security forces and the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday recovered arms and ammunition from a graveyard in the Natipora area of Srinagar district during a search operation linked to an ongoing investigation, officials said.
A police team, along with the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team and an executive magistrate, conducted a thorough search operation of the graveyard, they said.
They added that searches were carried out as part of an ongoing investigation into a case registered under Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), registered at Bemina police station in 2015.
The recovered items included one Chinese hand grenade, 20 posters, 100 grams of gunpowder and 10 AK-47 live rounds, they added. Section 13 of the UAPA deals with involvement in or advocacy of unlawful activities, often linked to terror support networks.
Meanwhile, in a separate development, the Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) raided dozens of locations across seven districts in the Kashmir Valley on Tuesday as part of an ongoing terror-related investigation, officials said.
The CIK teams simultaneously raided Pulwama, Budgam, Kulgam, Srinagar, Baramulla, Anantnag, and Kupwara districts.
The searches, according to officials, were aimed at collecting evidence and identifying suspects linked with terror networks and their support systems.
