A Delhi court has postponed the decision on the CBI chargesheet in the alleged land-for-jobs scam involving former railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav to February 17.

Special judge Vishal Gogne asked the CBI for clarification on the final report before proceeding.

On January 30, the CBI told the court that it had received approval to prosecute all the accused, including R K Mahajan, a public servant. However, the CBI raised some questions about the common elements and differences in the allegations in the chargesheet.

The CBI had previously informed the court on November 26 that it had received necessary approvals to prosecute 30 accused individuals in the case. At that time, it said that approval for Mahajan was still pending.

The case involves Group-D job appointments in the West Central Railway zone in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, during Prasad's time as railway minister between 2004 and 2009. The recruits allegedly gave land to Prasad's family or associates in exchange for jobs.

The CBI registered the case on May 18, 2022, against Prasad, his wife, two daughters, unidentified public officials, and private individuals.
