The Jammu and Kashmir's Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) and Crime Branch Kashmir destroyed a large cache of drugs seized during the Nasha Mukht Abhiyan.
The seized substances were destroyed at the incineration facility at IGC Lassipora, Pulwama, in accordance with the directions of the competent court.
According to officials, the contraband substances included charas, ganja and psychotropic tablets that had been seized during various anti-narcotics operations conducted by the ANTF across Kashmir.
The destruction of these substances was carried out through a scientific, secure and environmentally compliant incineration process, ensuring complete adherence to prescribed legal norms and environmental safety standards.
The disposal was carried out under the supervision of the Drug Disposal Committee, chaired by Abdul Waheed Shah, who also serves as Chairman of the Committee.
Others present at the disposal site were Kubra Nazir, Abdul Bari and other senior officers and officials, who ensured that the destruction was carried out transparently and strictly in compliance with the court directions.
Authorities said the timely disposal of narcotic substances forms an important part of the anti-drug strategy and reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying efforts against drug trafficking.
